The AP260SPT is a planer thicknesser designed and built to withstand heavy use on a daily basis in any professional workshop. Exceptionally accurate in both planing and thicknessing, it combines robust cast iron construction with the outstanding performance of a four-row spiral cutter block for a finish that standard machines simply cannot match.

Tables, Fence & Feed

The long cast iron surfacing tables are completely adjustable to the cutter block, eliminating sniping for a clean result across the full length of the board. A long, rigid alloy fence with stops at 90° and 45° supports your work accurately, with a storage bracket on the rear of the machine when not in use. The tables hinge independently and latch securely for thicknessing, and the thicknessing table adjusts smoothly with a digital height indicator for precise measurement of the cut. A power feed of 5m/min ensures a smooth, even finish throughout.

Spiral Cutter Block

The AP260SPT features a four-row spiral cutter block — a significant step up from standard straight knife blocks. Forty-four 15mm square solid tungsten cutters are arranged in a helical pattern, delivering a host of advantages:

• Each cutter has four edges — each edge lasts over ten times longer than HSS
• When cutters dull, simply rotate to a fresh edge — no knife changes, sharpening, or setting required
• Up to 50% quieter in use compared to standard blocks with some timbers
• Shear cutting action produces a silky smooth finish without lines across the board
• Saves up to 30% power, reducing strain on the machine and lowering running costs

Safety & Extraction

Chip extraction is via a hinging flip-over hood which is electrically interlocked for safety, ensuring the machine cannot operate unless the extraction system is correctly in place.
