Record Power Coronet Hawk 16 mm
These multi-tooth drive centres are designed for precision and a secure hold during woodturning. Featuring a ring of teeth around the circumference of the tip and a central drive point, they ensure accurate positioning of the workpiece. This design distributes pressure evenly across the timber, providing an exceptionally strong grip and minimizing the chance of splitting, especially when compared to traditional spur drive centres.
The superior grip offered by the many small teeth of the Record Power Coronet Hawk allows you to secure the timber effectively using only the clamping pressure of the lathe tailstock. In many cases, the need to forcefully drive the tips into the wood with a mallet is eliminated.
Another advantage of this drive centre is the ability to remove and accurately reposition your work on the lathe. The centre point and ring of teeth serve as a reliable guide for precise realignment. This feature is particularly useful when performing multiple turning operations.
These Record Power drives are also excellent for working with paper-joint wood blanks. The ring of teeth grips securely across the joint line, providing stability and preventing slippage during turning.
The 32 mm diameter drive centre is ideally suited for holding side-grain bowl blanks. Furthermore, it is well-suited for securing natural-edged bowls between centres, especially when seated within a 32 mm diameter recess for added support and stability from the recess walls. Consider the Record Power Coronet Hawk for a reliable and versatile woodturning solution.
