For drilling accurately through the centre of a workpiece on the lathe, there is no better option than a drill chuck. This Record Power 2 Morse taper drill chuck (CWA141) has a maximum capacity of 13mm and holds drill bits, expansive cutters, Forstner bits and other hexagonal shaft bits.

Uses on the lathe
- In the tailstock, for drilling pen blanks, bottle stoppers and lamp bases

Why drill on the lathe
With the work spinning and the drill fed from the tailstock, the hole is drilled true to the centre of the workpiece, and the feed speed is under your control.
