Kirinite Faux Tortoise Shell knife scales
Kirinite Faux Tortoise Shell knife scales for knife makers and handle projects. Some sets have more pattern than others, and each one is different, just like real tortoiseshell.
Kirinite is made by a chemical process that produces a durable, rich-looking grip material for knife makers to cut, shape and polish. The more it is polished, the better it grips, so it is not slippery in the hand.

Working with Kirinite scales
As with our Kirinite pen blanks, use very sharp tools and a light touch. Work through the abrasive grits before polishing to bring out the depth of the colour.
