CBN Wheel - Rim Only - 250 x 40 Tormek

These outstanding wheels, which have an almost indefinite life if treated correctly, are used in place of a normal granular wheel on a 6" or 8" high speed grinder. Due to the bonding between the CBN grains and the supporting steel hub, the wheels can be used dry, without coolant. Very little pressure need be applied to sharpen the tool. Unlike normal grinding wheels, there are virtually no sparks produced, the wheel and the tool remain very much cooler than is the case with conventional wheels, making it almost impossible to burn or blue the tools. We have available, both 'Side and Rim Coated' wheels. Rim coated is purely the outer face. Side & Rim also has a 15mm coating on the side face for flat sided tools. When it comes to ‘grit’ size, diamond, CBN and other similar abrasives are not measured in the same way as standard oxide grits. We offer our wheels in a general-purpose grit size of B91. This leaves a ground surface similar to what could be obtained if using a conventional abrasive of 180grit. You will need to purchase a reducing bush to suit the grinder of your choice. These bushes are available with a bore of 1/2", 5/8", 12mm & 15mm, as well as a dedicated size to suit a Tormek Sharpening machine. For Record Power grinders that are post-2018, you may need a CBN washer due to the extended shaft length against older models in order to correctly mount the wheel.
