They will keep your work firmly pressed against the fence resulting in a more accurate outcome. More importantly they form a vital safety device helping to prevent accidents. This kit comprises two featherboards (100mm long), two featherboard covers, four short mitre T-slot bars for 19mm (3/4) T-slot channels, plus knobs, bolts and washers for individual or stack mounting. Used as individual featherboards the face height/thickness is 13mm; when stacked the double feather board is 37mm high. The mitre T-slot bars are a two part design, ensuring a very firm hold in your machine’s T-slot channel. Two knobs lock the featherboard and cover into the mitre slot. With the featherboard positioned in the mitre slot it is then a simple matter of pushing it against the workpiece to apply the necessary pressure and then tighten the other two knobs. For different widths loosen these two knobs and move the feathers in or out as needed. There is 115mm of adjustment of the featherboard within the cover. If you use one of the featherboards vertically, simply rotate one of the feathers 180° so that the feathers are pointing in the direction of travel.
